Anchors Aweigh Sailing School offers the widest range and the highest levels of ASA certifications and endorsements in Connecticut.
At Anchors Aweigh, we believe sailing is a passion; it is more than boating, it is a connection with the wind and the water. We can help you reach your sailing goal, whether it be to sail on your local lake, spend a day on the Long Island Sound, race in regattas, or sail to the Bahamas. We can help you learn how to face the challenges of sailing while keeping you, your family & friends, and your boat safe and balanced.
We are located on the Thames River in New London, CT.
Meet Our Salty Crew
Captain Chris Cooper, our lead instructor, has been sailing for more than 40 years. He has sailed everything from a 14-foot Sunfish to a 48-foot catamaran and many styles of boats in between. Captain Cooper has sailed more than 10,000 nm on the open ocean, and he has a passion for sharing his knowledge and experience.
